Here are three ways to feel more fulfilled at work:

  1. Establish relationships with mentors

Mentors are senior leaders or influencers who can provide you with the career advice that you need to accelerate your career. Here’s one thing that’s important to remember about these people: chances are, they’re happy to provide their expertise and help you out.

  1. Volunteer on internal committees or initiatives

It’s likely that your organization supports causes or internal development. This can range from getting involved with the company’s Run for the Cure team or giving your time to a women’s network that supports the development of female employees in the organization. You may not have many options, but joining a committee is a great way to socialize and integrate yourself within your organization.

  1. Work closely with your manager to attain a faster than average promotion path 

If you’re feeling fulfilled, one of the causes may be that your progression is stagnating. If you feel this is happening to you, you should seek to address performance issues sooner rather than later. The average promotion path is around once every three years. If you’re below that, have a talk with your manager and be transparent about your goals. Work with them to achieve these objectives.
