Live Your Passion. Leave A Legacy.

On Wednesday July 24, 2013, I attended a conference by Legacy Mastery with the theme ‘Live Your Passion. Leave A Legacy.’ I was taken on an inspiring, empowering journey with visionaries such as Tony Robbins, Joe Plumeri, Robert Greene, Loretta LaRoche, Desiree Rogers, and Chip Heath. I learned a lot, laughed a lot, and most importantly, I came back excited to share this knowledge to motivate you to live an extraordinary life!

If you’re struggling with anything in your life right now, be it a job search, a career you feel stuck in, or your personal life, remember that you have what it takes to change your situation. Most importantly, believe that you deserve success. If you aren’t getting opportunities now, it simply means that you’re not clear on one or more of three things:

1) Your story – what’s your message

2) Your strategy – what’s your approach

3) Your state – how you feel

Master your uniqueness and make an impact. You are unique. There is one else like you. What’s your gift? Figure out your why – what’s your life purpose? Your life purpose gives you meaning and fulfillment. If you want to live your destiny, get clear on who you are, what you want, why you exist and how you’re going to get there. This sounds simple, but it certainly isn’t. It takes time, dedication, and research. And a lot of soul searching. But, it’s worth it, and so are you.

[Tweet “”Your heart is the genesis of everything that goes on.” @JoePlumeri #legacymastery”]

Stay true to your heart. Know what makes you tick, understand the values that you must work around, and identify the goals that drive you. Some things can’t be rationalized or logically explained, and that’s okay! Trust that your heart knows what you want to do, because only when you follow your intuition and desires will you achieve a fulfilling career and lifestyle.

[Tweet “”You’re 6 times better in decision making if you consider one more option.” @heathbrothers #legacymastery”]

Open your mind to new possibilities. When you make a decision, try to consider options that you wouldn’t otherwise. Stretch your mind and imagination by coming up with new ways to solve a problem. Even though you may think that you’ve exhausted all your possibilities, know that a true leader has a competitive edge because they are willing to consider what others won’t. Don’t let the status quo dictate how you think. By going above and beyond and considering additonal options, you will be able to paint a more comprehensive picture of the demands of the situation.

[Tweet “”If you want success, do things with absolute certainty!” @tonyrobbins #legacymastery”]

Get off the fence. Don’t go with the group just because you think you should. The one characteristic of a leader that we should all be familiar with is confidence. Confidence means doing things because you are clear and certain about what you want, you have faith in your own abilities, and you have that desire to separate yourself from the crowd.

[Tweet “”The power within is sharing our story. What’s your story?” @IamTHATDesiree #legacymastery”]

Your story has the the power to inspire and influence people. It takes courage and vulnerability to tell your story in an authentic way that connects with people. Think of your story as a marketing tool that is even more important than your resume or business card. Your story is your experience, your preferences, your strengths and weaknesses. It’s what you keep in mind when you show up to a networking event, and it plays a huge role in crafting a limitless (or limiting) future. From my time in business, as a recruiter, and as a life coach, I can say that everyone has an interesting story. But, some tell it better than others do. Express yourself clearly and compellingly to find new opportunities!

[Tweet “”Your energy is everything. What’s your energy? What are you thinking?” @LorettaLaRoche #legacymastery”]

How are you choosing to show up in life? Your energy dictates how people perceive you. It could cause them to make judgments about you, to cross your name off the list for a certain position, or to hire you on the spot. Keep a positive attitude. Always be curious by asking questions. Be aware of your inner state and what you’re thinking so that you can put your best foot forward, always.

[Tweet “”You will be happy if you believe your path is worthwhile.” @LorettaLaRoche #legacymastery”]

Do what you love, and you won’t have to work a day in your life. It’s cliché, you’ve heard it too many times before, you don’t really believe it, but it’s true. Your goal should be to establish a meaningful career that you can look back on and be proud of. From experience, I can tell you that it’s completely possible! Most importantly: you deserve it. You deserve to have a fulfilling career that you are passionate about.

[Tweet “Set new standard of excellence @jamestelljokes #legacymastery”]

Challenge the status quo. Raise the bar. You are the average of your 5 friends. Who are you surrounding yourself with? What positive or negative impact do they have on you? What is your standard of excellence? If you want to differentiate as top talent, be outstanding to stand out. If you want to get the job you love, master the skills and knowledge required to succeed. If you want to get promoted, step up and speak up.

You matter. Who are you? What do you want out of life? What impact do you want to make in this world? What legacy do you want to leave? I can’t answer these questions for you, but I can guide you towards realizing your true passion and potential. I’m hosting two unique seminars on August 24th, 2013: Discover Your Passion and Calling, and Stand Out or Get Lost: Brand Your Diamond With Confidence. You can attend one or the other, or you can take advantage of both. Together, these complementary workshops will help you discover your passions and learn how to translate them into a meaningful career. Click here for more information.

  1. Hi! I understand this is somewhat off-topic however I needed
to ask. Does running a well-established blog like yours require
a massive amount work? I am brand new to operating a blog however I do write in my journal
every day. I’d like to start a blog so I can share my experience and views online.

Please let me know if you have any ideas or tips for brand new aspiring bloggers.
    Appreciate it!

  2. I’m impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I encounter a blog
that’s equally educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the
nail on the head. The problem is an issue that not enough people are speaking intelligently
about. Now i’m very happy I found this in my hunt for something concerning this.
