Case 2

Seasoned marketer with 20+ years of experience laid off from top technology company receives two amazing offers at top tier CPG and financial services companies.

I needed a plan to make my next career move and the coaching program gave me steps and resources to get there. Working with Diana helped me stay motivated and on track while moving towards a new role that would help me feel challenged and satisfied.” (Jennifer)

What was your situation prior to entering the coaching program?

I was a senior leader at a top technology company. After over twenty years accumulating broad experience, I was laid off due to company restructuring and didn’t know how to translate my digital, social, and international marketing experience into a fulfilling role.

What steps did you take to differentiate yourself?

At the time, it had been a while since I had updated my resume and job search documents. I wanted to get the best possible results so I hired a resume writer to make sure that we were using best practices in the documents. This, combined with Diana’s experience, helped my resume demonstrate that I had the marketable the skills and experiences that would make me stand out from the crowd.

Working with Diana helped me stay motivated and on track while moving towards a new role that would help me feel challenged and satisfied.

What was your success coming out of your coaching sessions?

I was able to pick between two job offers at top tier CPG and financial services companies! Both aligned well with my marketing experience as well as my interests in strategy and analytics.

Do you have any advice for other professionals seeking to make a career or industry change?

First, always do your preparation and planning. Career coaching can help you create a plan of attack to make sure that you see results as quickly as possible. Reaching out to Diana also gave me the tools I needed to start my job search.

Next, utilize your network. I focused heavily on reaching out to my network and making sure that my connections were able to forward my resume to hiring managers or the HR desk while providing their recommendations. The more people you share your goals with, the easier it will be for them to help you.
